We age our finest grade A Dark Robust flavored pure maple syrup for 7 months in Rum barrels imported from Jamaica's Appleton Estates.  Mellow, yet sophisticated.

Enjoy over pancakes or waffles, drizzle over fresh apple pie or sharp cheddar for a sweet and savory snack.  Delicious as a glaze on grilled salmon or chicken. I like a tablespoon in my morning coffee.  The possibilities are endless!

Excellent and balanced Flavor and consistency

I'm actually not a big fan of maple syrup until I tried the Old State Farms maple syrup. I found them at a market North of Pittsburgh. I am very curious with food made with alcoholic beverage without the alcohol. When I saw these maple syrup on the shelf, the Bourbon caught my eyes. I bought a bottle of Rum and one of Bourbon. I tried the Rum first, and it was delicious. After finishing the Rum, I tried the Bourbon maple syrup, and WOW it is definitely my favorite of the two. I ended up dipping the pancake in the Rum maple syrup. What I love about this syrup is that it has the prefect consistency - not too thick and not too runny. It's sweet, but not too sweet. The maple flavor was lighter - the right level of maple flavor for me. I can really taste the Rum and the Bourbon in the 2 bottles I bought. The Bourbon is my favorite. I am going to get a few cases for Christmas for the office and friends, and saving a several bottles for me! I wished I tried the Rum Maple Syrup on coconut ice-cream. I bet that would be delicious! I highly recommend trying these Old State Farms aged maple syrup.


This was the second "barrel aged" I tried, after the Bourbon. If I had to choose between the two, I would choose the Bourbon, as the rum is sweeter and I'm not that sweet. But hey -- why choose? Buy them both and alternate according to your morning mood (which is bound to improve after a healthy dose of any kind of Old State Farms syrup)!


I wasn't sure what to expect but the Rum barrel aged was exceptional.
