FAQs

Syrup Grades

Grade A light – light amber color with very mild flavor.   We do not sell light amber because the maple flavor is so mild.   Available upon request.
Grade A Medium- medium amber color with a subtle maple bouquet, good for table use on pancakes, waffles, ice cream, yogurt and anything else you can think of.
Grade A Dark – dark amber in color with strong maple bouquet, also good for table use.
Grade B – dark caramel color, a very robust maple flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We ship orders every Tuesday and Friday.  We use both UPS and the US Postal Service.    Transit times range from 2-5 days depending on your location.  We are shipping from North West Pennsylvania

Return Policy

I’ve never had anyone return anything but I guess it’s good have a policy if that day ever comes.  We will refund the full amount of the product provided it’s unopened.  If the product is opened and unsatisfactory, after inspection we will either refund the full amount or a pro-rated amount based on much product is left.

Can we schedule a tour of your Sugarhouse?

The best time to visit is in the spring when the sugar season is in full swing.  Please call ahead, if your group is more than 8 or 10 people I like to have someone else to run the evaporator and keep an eye on things while I show everyone around.

Is your Syrup Organic?

Often we are asked “is your syrup organic?”

Yes our syrup is organic, however we are not certified by any agency.  We follow all the guidelines for organic maple production and we have even added a forest stewardship category called Low Impact Maple Production.  Our syrup production is chemical free from start to finish.

Organic certification is costly, time consuming and the amount of records required (in my opinion) is burdensome.

  1. How long can I store unopened Maple syrup? Please indicate the best possible storage to prolong shelf life. Thank you.
I have bought your syrup about 7 years ago and by far it is The Best Maple Syrup ever!
Unfortunately I’m not able to make the trip to resupply and am happy about your after Christmas free shipping.
The supply is running dangerously low here in Southwest Iowa. Need to replenish the Maple syrup shelf in my pantry/fridge.
Thank you for a wonderful product and information on best storage practices.

    • Janet, the shelf life of maple syrup depends on how it’s stored. If it’s an unopened glass container it will last for many years. In a plastic container I recommend using it in 18 months. In the freezer it will also last for many years. But who wants to keep great tasting syrup for that long, you should be eating it!
